Reciva Internet Radio Hits Japanese Market

July 12, 2006 - Reciva has announced that Reciva enabled Internet radios will go on sale in Japan today. The Scitec Corporation IR-001W Internet radio will be the first Internet radio product with Reciva-based technology launched into the Japanese market.

“Following the successful launch of Reciva enabled products in Europe and the US, we are delighted to confirm the move into Japan as we progress towards establishing global availability of Reciva products and technology,” said Giles Hutchison, CEO of Reciva, and he added, “the Scitec IR-001W represents the latest Internet radio product in the Reciva pipeline and we will be announcing a number of further products and services throughout the year.”

The first manufacturers to adopt Reciva technology and introduce products to the market were Acoustic Energy and MagicBox, followed by The Peninsula Hotels, owned by The Hong Kong and Shangai Hotels Group, who are installing Reciva radios in their hotel suites.

Reciva provide the only Internet radio and Digital Media Player products that support RealAudio® , which accounts for 40% of online broadcasts, as well as other major formats that include Microsoft®Windows Media™, AAC and MP3, allowing listeners access to Internet radio broadcasts without the need for a PC.
